Due to different skeletal structure and ratios between muscles, men and woman have different amount of pressures in joints. This study looked at how the amount of force and pressure in the foot is different in men and women whilst walking and standing. They found that women had a significantly higher peak pressure in the toes and front of the foot compared to men. This data can be used to predict injury risks to the foot as well as where placing cushioning in footwear would be most appropriate.
